J&K Govt Amendment in Eligibility for the Recruitment of Junior Assistant and Junior Stenographer

 Amendment for the Posts of Junior Assistant and Junior Stenographer

The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has issued a S.O. 183 of 2021 dated 24th of May, 2021.

In all Subordinate Service Recruitment Rules governing different services/posts under the Government, the qualification i.e. “Six months Certificate Course in Computer Application from a recognized Institute” prescribed for the posts of Junior Assistant and Junior Stenographer, shall be omitted.

All the departments shall accordingly amend their subordinate service recruitment rules.

(As per the SRO 333 of 2018 dated 02-08-2018)

1.Junior Assistant :

Level-4 (25500 – 81100)

2.Junior Stenographer :

Level 6B (35600 – 112800)

Earlier Prescribed Qualification 

Junior Assistant:

1) Graduation from any recognized University with the knowledge of type writing having not less than 35 words speed per minute.

2) Six months Certificate Course in Computer Applications from a recognized Institute.

Junior Stenographer:

1) Graduation from a recognized University having minimum speed of 65 and 35 words per minute in

shorthand and type writing respectively.

2)Six months certificate course in Computer Applications from a recognized Institute.

Selection Criteria 

Junior Assistant:

Skill Test = 20 points

Written Examination/CBT =80 points

(The marks obtained in the Type Test shall be proportionately allotted against 20 points earmarked for the Type Test)

Junior Stenographer:

Skill Test = 40 points

Written Examination/CB T =60 points

(The marks obtained in the Skill Test shall be proportionately allotted against 40 points earmarked for the Skill Test)

Prescribed Qualification 

“Six months Certificate Course in Computer Application from a recognized Institute” prescribed for the posts of Junior Assistant and Junior Stenographer, shall be omitted Now

As per the S.O. 183 of 2021 dated 24th of May, 2021 all the departments shall accordingly amend their subordinate service recruitment rules.
